“Jack-tor” — Episode 105

TV

Once again, Liz Lemon is juggling a couple of major issues. The first involves Tracy, who has decided that he is taking a break from rehearsals. He seems to be ignoring the cue cards, and this leads Liz to believe that he may, in fact, be illiterate. After confronting Tracy about her suspicion, he tells her that it is true – he can’t read. Liz offers to help Tracy make special work arrangements so that he can learn to read. After it becomes apparent that Tracy is taking advantage of the arrangements, and Liz sees him reading the newspaper, she realizes that Tracy has been lying to her about his illiteracy so he can get out of work. Liz confronts Tracy, and he agrees to go back to work.

Issue #2 involves Jack – he is pressuring the writing staff to include product placement in the show to promote products falling under the GE corporate umbrella. Eventually, Liz agrees do what Jack wants, but under one condition – Jack must appear in the sketch. This proves to be a near-disaster.

In the middle of all of this, Jenna is practically begging to be allowed to perform her new single on the show, entitled “Muffin Top”. Pete finally allows her to perform, but doesn’t tell her that they went off-air just before the perfomance begins.
