In the Season 2 finale, Jack takes on new political work in Washington, D.C., but when the job doesn’t meet his expectations, he enlists his ex-flame C.C. (Edie Falco) and a government staffer (Matthew Broderick) to help him get fired. Elsewhere, Liz faces a pregnancy scare; Kenneth aspires to be a page at the Olympics; and Tracy puts the final touches on his invention.

TV Guide has posted the following summary of tonight’s new episode:
Liz’s ex-flame Floyd (Jason Sudeikis) returns to the Big Apple and looks for a place to stay overnight. Meanwhile, Jack worries about his future at the company when he’s moved to a different floor; and the staffers relish Sandwich Day with sandwiches from a mysterious, unnamed shop. Rip Torn and Brian Dennehy guest star.

This week’s new episode:
When Don decides to promote Jack and make him his successor over Devon, Jack decides to give his old job to Liz because she always has his back. However, a turn of events concerning Don’s health compromises Jack’s promotion. Meanwhile, Tracy thinks that his son is embarrassed of his career because he did not invite him to fathers day at school. Will Arnett and Chris Parnell also guest star.
This week’s new episode:
Jack hopes to book a hot hero who prevented a terrible subway accident. It turns out the man is none other than Liz’s ex-flame Dennis (Dean Winters), who tries to win back her heart. Meanwhile, Jack futilely searches for a hip Republican celebrity, with only aging 1940s TV star Bucky Bright (Tim Conway) emerging. Not to be outdone, Jack turns to Tracy to represent Republicans.

This episode was certainly one of the highlights of the season. How could anyone not love the casting of guest stars Paul Reubens and Isabella Rossellini?
It’s another typical day at 30 Rock. Liz, Josh and Frank are hanging out in the studio trading “yo mama” jokes. Jack walks up just as Lemon tells Josh, “What’s the difference between yo mama and a washing machine? When I drop a load in the washing machine, it doesn’t follow me around for a week.” He seems to be mildly amused, and asks to speak with her for a moment. Jack takes Liz aside and asks her to accompany him to birthday party for his friend, Prince Gerhardt Hapsburg. It is the social event of the season. After a little prodding, Liz tells him she’ll do it, but is not going to like it. Jack quickly replies “That’s what your mom said to me last night. Boo-ya.”, and walks away.
Out in the hallway, Pete is speaking with his son on the phone, and impersonating Elmo from Sesame Street. “Elmo” is encouraging him to do better with his potty training. Tracy overhears the exchange, and compares Pete’s relationship with his wife to that of Samson and Delilah.

Jenna and Liz keep running into the same two men in the elevator at work, and find themselves interested in them. Because they do not know they men’s names, they simply refer to them as “The Head”, and “The Hair”. After talking with Jenna, Liz decides she is going to ask “The Head” out on a date. However, on her way to find him, she runs into “The Hair”, who asks her out. She agrees to attend a party with him.
Meanwhile, Tracy panics in the writers’ room - his autobiography is due to the publisher the next day, but he has not yet begun to write it. He begs Toofer and Frank to help him get it done in time, and they agree. They run into a problem when Tracy can’t remember much about his own life, and turn to Wikipedia for the answers. They work non-stop on the project, until Tracy remembers that there never was an actual publisher for the book, and shuts the project down.

Jenna is excited about the release of her new film - “The Rural Juror”. The film is based on a book written by Kevin Grisham, the less-famous brother of John Grisham. She gives Liz a screener copy, and asks her to view it and give her honest opinion of it.
Tracy approaches Jack, asking him for $100,000 so he won’t lose his houses. Jack inquires as to whether or not he has a financial adviser, and Tracy tells him that his financial adviser is Grizz. Grizz blames Tracy’s financial woes on the Worldcom scandal. Jack refuses his request, instead suggesting that he use his name to promote a product. He encourages Tracy to give it some thought and come up with a product he can put his name on.
Liz takes the time to view Jenna’s film, and is not impressed. But, she does not want to tell Jenna the truth for fear of offending her. When Jenna asks her about it, she can tell by Liz’s reaction that she didn’t care for it. This, of course, results in a huge arguement, and Liz and Jenna are no longer on speaking terms.

Cerie announces her engagement during a gathering for Jenna’s birthday. When asked how long she’s known the guy, Cerie replies “…it will be two months in three weeks”. Liz begins to question her own status as a single woman and whether or not she will be a mother. She speaks with Jenna about this, and Jenna proceeds to tell all of the men in the office that Liz is looking for someone to get her pregnant.
Later that day, Liz sees Cerie in the makeup department getting herself made up. Anna, the makeup artist has her baby at work with her because her sitter is sick that day. She asks Liz to hold the baby for a while, so Liz takes the baby for a stroll around the building. Suddenly she realizes that she is no longer in the building, but is now in her apartment. She compares it to “highway hypnosis”. She hurries back to the office with the baby, and Pete defuses the situation.

Liz Lemon comes home to a disaster. Dennis has knocked several holes the wall in her living room in order to hang a TV on it. In addition to that mess, his cousin Teddy’s great dane is wandering around the apartment, and Teddy is in her bed. This is the last straw, and she demands that he finally leave. Later, she explains to Jenna that she’s given Dennis a week to find a new place.
Jenna is excited by the news and takes is out on the town in an effort to meet someone new. This does not go well, as Liz is extremely awkward around the men they meet. Jenna, embarrassed, lies to her and tells her that the bars close at 11:30pm and takes her home.
