Alec Baldwin Hosting SNL

Thursday, February 12th, 2009 by Burr

Don’t forget, Alec Baldwin is hosting SNL this week. This, I believe, will mark his 14th appearance as host. Mr. Baldwin’s been a part of many memorable sketches in the past (as evidenced below), so be sure to tune in.

Because I am a kind and generous person, please enjoy this classic moment, courtesy of the  folks at NBC.

Judah Friedlander Is Available

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 by Burr

Date This GuyGood news, ladies (or men, if you’ve grown up and feel that’s what’s inside of you)! Judah Friedlander (Frank) is available. He sounds like quite the catch as well, if you’ve got some very particular tastes.

“If you want marriage, kids, an outer-borough nonhipster residence, a guy that was just voted ‘Worst Dressed’ at the Emmy’s and the SAG Awards, does stand-up comedy just about every night, who is also the greatest athlete in the world, is banned from China because he’s too good at karate, collects ‘amazing art’ and bad movies, plays lots of Ping-Pong, was kicked out of the porn industry because he was too sexually powerful, and is a role model to children—then I’m your man.”

Tina Fey — Divine?

Monday, January 26th, 2009 by Burr

Tina Fey - Golden GlobesWhen it comes to 30 Rock’s winning streak, it seems that the recent awards season may be becoming a bit predictable.  At the SAG Awards this weekend, when an interviewer talking to Christina Applegate brought up her nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy, she had this to say:

“You would have to be Jesus to take it away from Tina Fey at this point this year.”

“30 Rock” Gets Renewed

Friday, January 16th, 2009 by Sakura

NBC LogoNBC is renewing “30 Rock” for the 2009-10 season!

Tina Fey has had an incredible year — all the industry accolades and her game-changing impersonation of Sarah Palin — so there was never any doubt among fans that the show would be back, but in this challenging economic environment, one never knows.

Let’s hope the show’s writers continue to find creative ways to integrate products (Soy Joy, Snapple) into the episodes without it becoming cumbersome.

“30 Rock” Wins at the Golden Globes

Sunday, January 11th, 2009 by Sakura

Golden GlobeCongratulations to “30 Rock” for its amazing winning streak at the Golden Globes! The show won in all three of the categories in which it was nominated:

* Alec Baldwin, for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy)

* Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy)

* Tina Fey, for Best Actress in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy)

We should mention Tracy Morgan’s funny acceptance speech on behalf of the cast when they won the Best Television Series award. He told the audience that he and Tina made a pact that if Barack Obama won the election, he would become the official spokesperson for the show.

Tina also had something to say to her haters on the Internet: “You can suck it!”

“Senor Macho Solo” — Episode 307

Friday, January 9th, 2009 by Sakura

Jack DonaghyHappy New Year, 30 Rock fans! Following a brief hiatus, both “30 Rock” and 30RockOnline.com are back in full swing. Quick recap: in the last episode, Liz got into the holiday spirit by donating gifts to children in need; Jack took in his injured mother after nearly running her over; and the Girlie Show staff had two days to produce a Christmas special. In the Jan. 8 episode “Senor Macho Solo,” both Liz and Jack usher in the New Year with the hope that they will find their soul mates. The show opens with Jenna telling Liz that she is auditioning for the latest Sheinhardt film production of the Janis Joplin biopic. But Liz is distracted by the ticking of her biological clock — and a cute baby.

Liz: “Hi Max, is this your baby sister? Oh, what a cute little girl — or boy, if you grow up and feel that that’s what’s inside you.”

Write For Us

Friday, May 9th, 2008 by Burr

Keyboard

We are looking for a few additional 30 Rock fans who have a sense of humor, love the show, and can clearly express themselves with a keyboard.

Interested?  All you need to do is email us and tell us a little about yourself. Please include a link to some writing samples, or include one with your email. You don’t need a degree in journalism by any means (as you can clearly see from our existing posts), but it would be nice if you can speak clearly, with a bit of humor or opinion thrown in. It doesn’t need to be long, just something so we can get a feel of how you write.

What’s your motivation?  Well, your love of 30 Rock, of course!  That, and the chance to help build a community of like-minded 30 Rock fans.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Meet Deborah

Saturday, April 19th, 2008 by Burr

Deborah

Entertainment Weekly has  an interview with actress Deidre Goodwin, who played Deborah on MILF Island.  From the sounds of things, you can expect to see a fair amount of deleted scenes from this episode on the DVD set.

Q: How was the shoot?
A: There was so much they didn’t really show. After I finished, I was exhausted, but I was so happy because I never had that much fun working. I literally came home and washed sand and bananas out of my hair. We did ridiculous things. There was a girl who ate a cockroach.

Q: A real cockroach?
A: Well, they used chocolate cockroaches. But during a close-up, they made her hold a real one up to her lips. And then they didn’t even show that part! Poor thing. For me — you probably saw glimpses of this — there was a ‘’stick dance.” On set they’d told us my adversary was a very sweet girl, and I was [directed to be] raunchy, slapping my ass and everything. Then they had me shoot it again by myself. And you know that video by Whitesnake? I did that.

Q: You did your best Tawny Kitaen?
A: Crawling, cooter slam, flipping the hair, the whole thing. It was awesome.
